Nathan has since worked across many sectors of the industry, a past nissui scholarship recipient, Nathan currently works for Moana where he has been for the past 10 years in harvest management and as a fisheries advocate. Nathans roles allows him to represent the company in fisheries management, work closely with fisher around the installation of cameras, electronic reporting and Vessel Monitoring systems on vessels, as well as implementing the Seabird training programmes and Responsible Fishers Education Training Scheme.
Coming from a fishing background Nathan has a deep understanding of life on the water and has respect for the fishers and the environment they work in. Nathan is also a Director for Ngati Tuwharetoa Fisheries and the Iwi Collective Partnership, so Nathan feels directly responsibility for fish in the water today and ensuring there is fish in the water for future generations.
