This is a great opportunity for an experienced driver and maintenance worker to join our Operations team based in Wiri and take responsibility for the following:

The purpose of the Delivery Driver & Maintenance Worker is to:

  • Deliver oysters predominantly short haul around Auckland metro with occasional long haul driving from Auckland to Coromandel;  local deliveries in Auckland region, export load outs to Freight Forwarders
  • Driving is mainly in class 1 and 2 vehicles, occasional class 4 drive.
  • To undertake support the Factory Manager, supervisors, and processing team, and wider Tio (Oysters) operations to ensure the highest standards of product handling, transportation and delivery of product is maintained at all times.
  • Responsibility for loading, and unloading of product, transportation, and delivery of products in Auckland and multiple North Island locations.
  • Ensure all order documentation is accurate, complete, and valid, and submitted on return to office
  • Truck is clean and well-maintained at all times
  • Highest standards of driver safety, compliance and behaviour is maintained
  • Liaise with operational supervisors to ensure completed consignments are loaded onto the truck.
  • Assist dispatch with unloading trucks, storage, and helping the factory team with export and delivery preparation, as required

You will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of product to customers and Moana NZ sites across the North Island.

Working alongside factory, farm and operational teams, you must be a team player, who is happy to lend a hand when needed and sees no job being too small or big to get done. Process orientated you will take pride in your driving capability, ability to work effectively with people at all levels and complete tasks to a high standard.

This role is physical and requires a high level of strength, health and fitness.

What You Will Bring:

You will ideally have previous experience working in FMCG, manufacturing and/or primary industry, handling perishable products. As an experienced truck driver, you will enjoy both the factory related duties, as well as driving responsibility that comes with this role. Physically fit, you will know the importance of being organized, an effective communicator and having a level of integrity when working across multi teams and sites.

Your reputation as an honest, hardworking and down to earth employee, will proceed you. Along with your excellent customer service skills, and immaculate driving record.

You must have a full and clean class 2 New Zealand Truck Drivers Licence, Class 4 would be advantageous but not essential. Due to the nature of our operations, flexibility around hours and days of work may be required.
